Deborah LaRock, a United Helpers employee for more than 27 years, has been selected as UH’s first Fannie Frank Distinguished CNA!

Dr. Edward I. and Mrs. Barbara K. Gordon worked with UH’s Society office to create this endowment as a tribute to Dr. Gordon’s grandmother, who immigrated to New York from Poland more than 100 years ago. “Now, her name will live on forever,” Dr. Gordon says.

The criteria that Deb achieved in order to receive the $1,000 cash award are:

· A remarkably caring demeanor

· Remarkably competent care

· Continuous employment with UH for five or more years

Deb was nominated by Vice President of Operations Kimberly Blair, of Rehab & Senior Care in Canton. She wrote that Deb treats her residents “as she would her own family and gives them the care and respect they deserve…. She is the type of CNA that makes a nursing home a home.”

Dr. and Mrs. Gordon will meet with Deb next week to personally present her with her award. Congratulations Deb!

And, the awards continue! The 2020 Wayne N. Ladouceur Award recipient to be selected very soon!

New and exciting last February was the Wayne N. Ladouceur Award, for an outstanding hourly employee working anywhere in UH. Cheryl Ladouceur and more than 80 friends and families gave in order to create this endowment in Wayne’s memory.

Remember that … the 2019 recipient was Sitie Parcell of Rehab & Senior Care Ogdensburg?

The 2020 winner of this annual $1,000 award will be announced very soon. Stay tuned!
